Medium: Clay 8in x 6.5in This project was inspired by Portuguese pottery because I am Portuguese and I wanted to create a piece that was inspired by my culture because I love the pieces they have.

Functional Cup

Medium: Clay 5.5in x 3.5in In this project I wanted to create a mug for my dad because he drinks coffee everyday and I put a nature theme on it because he likes to go hunting.

Deconstructed Cup

Medium: Clay 5in x 3.25in x 2.75in Because the first cup was a nature themed cup, I wanted to continue that theme and do a branch with leaves.

Mask

Medium: Clay 9.5in x 3.5in x 7in There were many ways to come up with a meaning for a "mask". I took this in a personal direction because I thought about what mask I wear in front of people.The words on the bottom show what I am hurt by and hide from people. Out of the words books, music, and my family are what keep me from having those words affect me and "mask" the words from being shown. In other words, books, music and my family are my "salvation" from those words.

Mask

The words at the bottom are negative characteristis that I have and I wrote them in Portuguese because I have been told them in Portuguese so it hurts more and they are carved to show the level of hurt and the jail bars on top of the words to show that I am trapped by these words.
